Shelene Bryan: Latest News

Shelene Bryan is founder of Skip1.org, a 501(c)3 non-profit that taps into the world's wealth to bring food and water to children and families in need around the world. Shelene started Skip1 in September 2009 as a result of numerous trips to third-world countries where she saw for herself how skipping one small luxury in America could literally save a child’s life. 100% of all public donations go to the acquisition and distribution of food and water projects. Shelene’s career took a dramatic change when she started Skip1. The previous ten years she was busy producing a variety of successful film and television projects. In 2001 she founded ‘Not to be Rude Productions’ with Candace Cameron Bure (Full House). Together they produced the award winning show ‘The Krew’.

 

In 2004 Shelene was part of the creative team on the powerful short film, ‘Just Stop and Think’ which has over 1 million copies in distribution.

 

In 2007 she was the Executive Producer of the full-length feature film ‘Like Dandelion Dust’ for 20th Century Fox. Starring Mira Sorvino and Barry Pepper, the film is an adaptation of the book of the same name by best-selling author Karen Kingsbury.

 

In 2008 Shelene, produced “Faith of our Fathers” for Sony. Starring Stephen Baldwin, Candace Cameron Bure & Grammy award winning artist Rebecca St. James.

 

Yet, even with her busy production life, Shelene’s heart was always focused on children and families in need. One of her initial charity efforts took place in 2004 when, through Children’s Hunger Fund, she created Jungle Ride. This project mobilizes missionaries, teachers and care givers in developing countries by equipping them with bicycles, motorcycles and other transportation to get nourishing food, clothing, and hygiene items to children and people in need.
